Ecosystem Classification

Ecosystem classification and mapping provides a framework for environmental impact assessment and landscape level resource management. The process involves map and aerial photograph interpretation of ecosystem boundaries followed by field sampling and verification of upland, wetland and aquatic ecosystem classifications. Standards, field guides and quality assurance procedures for ecosystem classification ensure field data and map products are defensible and reliable. Ecosystem classification is a standard component of land use planning, impact assessment and species management plans and Cornice is experienced in completing projects throughout British Columbia and parts of Alberta and Nunavut to:
